Day 17
Becky Harling
“And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Is.9:6
The Invitation
“Crown Me as your Prince of Peace. I continually offer you the gift of serenity, even in the midst of chaos. Praise Me, & I will quiet your heart. My peace is not based on perfect circumstances. It is a peace that comes from living in My presence. When you worry about what might happen, you sabotage your tranquillity. So don’t let your mind go to worry. Discipline your thoughts. Reign them in.
The moment you begin to worry, praise Me instead. My child, you have a choice about whether you allow My peace to rule in your heart. Thank Me that I lovingly reign over every circumstance in your life. As you praise Me, My Spirit strengthens your heart to trust Me more. This is the best antidote to anxiety. Worship Me as the Lord of peace, & I will envelop you with supernatural calm.” (Is.9:6; Mat.6:34; Col.3:15; 2Thes.3:16)
Today, focus your praise on Jesus as the Prince of Peace. It’s easy to worry & feel anxious, isn’t it? When we choose to praise God, the Holy Spirit calms our anxious hearts & gives us the ability to trust God more fully. Today, don’t allow your mind to entertain what-ifs. Every time an anxious thought threatens to sabotage your peace, immediately start to praise God.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And
the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
& your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:6-7)
Listen

As you listen, praise God that He comes to your rescue & offers you peace even in the storms of life.
Pray
Lord Jesus, I worship You as my Prince of Peace. Thank You that I can trust You with my life. Your Word tells me I don’t have to worry about what I’ll eat or what I’ll wear. You promise that even when bad things happen I can allow peace to rule in my mind, because You love me & will work things out for good. I also don’t have to worry about my loved ones ____________________ [name each one], because each one is held in Your loving hands.
Lord, worry doesn’t accomplish anything, so teach me to praise You by faith. Thank You that I can turn every concern over to You, because You care so deeply for me. I bow before You, Lord Jesus. I lay down every worry at Your feet.
I place every care on You, because You are strong enough & loving enough to carry my burdens. Hallelujah! You are the Lord God Almighty, & You reign over every situation I feel concerned about. I praise You that You reign over _______________ [name every person you are worried about & every situation you feel anxious about]. I praise You that I can trust You. You are the King of Kings & Lord of Lords. Thank You for being my Prince of Peace.
(Mat.6:25-27; Col.3:15; 1Pet.5:7; Ps. 55:22; Rev.19:6, 16)
Journal
Spend some time journaling about each of the situations & people you feel anxious about. Then write a prayer of praise that you can place all these worries in the hands of Jesus, trusting that He will take care of each situation & person.
