Day 21
Becky Harling
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – Jn.16:33
The Invitation
“The world feels dark at times. The news is filled with reports of terrorism, neighborhood violence, natural catastrophes, & a failing economy. My child, in this world you will have trouble. When adversity strikes & it feels as though evil is winning, praise Me that I have overcome the world.
Satan hates it when you praise Me. He flees at the sound of My great Name. So, use My Name wisely. Shout My Name, sing My Name, & declare the power of My Name over your life.
Your testimony, My child, is simply the story of how your life changed when you placed your trust in Me. You also overcome evil by proclaiming the power that is in the blood of the Lamb. Salvation & glory & power belong to Me & Me alone. As you praise Me, I will strengthen you to persevere, even in the face of evil.”
Today focus on Jesus Christ as the victor over evil. Here are some helpful passages from Revelation to meditate on in your praise time:
Revelation 5:9-10
Revelation 5:12
Revelation 5:13
Revelation 7:10
Revelation 7:11-12
Revelation 11:17
Revelation 19:1-2
Revelation 19:6
Revelation 19:7
Revelation 19:8.
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Cor.15:57)
Listen
Listen to “Overcome” performed by Jeremy Camp.
& “God of This City” performed by Chris Tomlin.
As you praise & worship today, allow renewed faith that Jesus Christ does indeed reign rise up in your heart.
He will be the everlasting victor over evil.
Pray
Lord Jesus, I praise You, because You are the Lord God Almighty. You are the One Who is & was & is to come.
Worthy are You, Lamb of God, because You were slain to receive power & wealth & wisdom & strength & honor & glory & praise! You have overcome the Evil One by Your death & resurrection.
Evil holds no power over me because I belong to You.
I am so grateful for the victory that You won, not only for me but for all of creation.
I praise You, Lord Jesus, that when You return, there will never again be hunger, terrorism, violence, or evil of any kind.
You will wipe away every tear, & forever You will sit on Your throne & reign.
How I praise You that someday every knee will bow before You & every tongue will confess that You are Lord. I exalt You, Lord Jesus, for You deserve all the honor & glory.
Journal
Think through the news reports you have heard over the last week. What feelings did those news reports stir up in you? Write about those feelings in your journal. Then finish by writing out a prayer of praise that Jesus is the victor & that someday He will overcome all evil.
