1 He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
God wants to change our hardened hearts into hearts of flesh, so that He can use us an instruments of His love, mercy, and truth to others. His chastening's are meant to soften us to be mouldable clay in His hands. When we resist and refuse to yield to the Lord's judgments or correction, we're digging our own grave.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
4 The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.

Many of our political representative are receiving gifts from corporate, national, and political entities that are in opposition to the desires of the people. When it's time to vote, our representative will vote in line with the will of those entities and not ours. Those gifts he is receiving mean more than his so-called loyalty to his constituents.
5 A man that flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet.

That is why you are wise to deflect the flattery up to God and give Him credit for anything good you are able to accomplish. Even Jesus didn't fall into the trap of receiving flattery, but reflected it up to His Father. The flatterer is hoping that our pride will accept his praise. Resist flattering lips by correcting them and giving God the glory for any talent or ability you may possess.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
Lord help us to always sing and rejoice, which shows we are trusting in You. It shows we believe that we are in Your hands, and that You will save us. Help us to sing and rejoice and trust no matter what may be going on around us.
7 The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
Like Solzhenitsyn said when asked why the Russian revolution and civil war had taken place and had left millions dead: "Men have forgotten God. That is the reason all this has happened. Men have forgotten God."
9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lightens both their eyes.

To make the comparison correct, the writer should have written: "the poor and the rich meet to together." Instead, he wrote, "the poor and the deceitful man meet together." Do we fall into deception in order to have more riches?
14 The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

Don't leave your children (0-18) on their own. Make sure they have a good overseer.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Do you see a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and bewrays it not.

Don't be a companion to sin, even cursing. Tell your friend the cursing offends you and you would be happy if he stopped. Stand up for Jesus. Don't let them use His name in vain.
25 The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
25 The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Let's not be men pleaser and fear peer pressure. Fear God, and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment comes from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Let's be abominations to the wicked. Make that you goal by walking rightly with your God.
