Center of the Universe with Dr. Russell Humphreys - Origins

Galileo was contradicting the Aristotelian dogma of the scientific community of his day who objected to his theory. The scientists/intellectuals in turn put pressure on the Pope who had known Galileo before becoming Pope to condemn Galileo's ideas. Many new ideas which contradict the old are condemned off hand by the establishment. Science/philosophy had held to Aristotle's model for some 1800 years. The Catholic Church had adopted Aristotle's science/philosophy and incorporated it into their theology. But the Bible doesn't say that the earth doesn't move and that it is the center of the universe. From inference, we can speculate that the earth could very well be near the center of the gravitational center of the universe. Dr. Russell Humphreys has made a speculative cosmological model based on this assumption. He claims that empirical evidence from the red shift and the observation of the galaxies forming in clusters like electrons circulating a proton or nucleus of an atom, can be interpreted as meaning that the galaxy we find ourselves in could very well be near to the center of the universe.
