The Bible predicts in the last days of man's rule on earth a totally antichrist world government will arise. The government comes in peaceably and distributes to the poor and may even seem at first more just and righteous than any previous government. But things take a turn for the bad when the global leader is nearly assasinated. He thereby initiates the "mark of the beast" technology which may very well be some sort of biometric technology enabling him to control mankind. Of course, things don't go as well as he plans and the world falls into the "great tribulation" period ending with the return of Christ during the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus said that unless He had shortened the time period of castrophe no man of animal would have been left alive on the planet. As it is 1/3 of humanity will die during the days of affliction.
