Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die it
abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. John 12:24
He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his
life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serves Me, let
him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serves
Me, him will My Father honour. John 12: 25-26
A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of
death (is better) than the day of one’s birth. It is better to go to the house
of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for (death) is the end
of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. Sorrow is better than
laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The
heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the
house of mirth. Ecclesiastes 7:1-4
There is no man who has power over the spirit to retain the
spirit; neither has he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in
that war. Ecclesiastes 8:8
The race is not to the swift, nor to the strong, neither yet
bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to
men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. For man also knows not
his time (of death): as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the
birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil
time, when it falls suddenly upon them. Ecclesiastes 9:11-12.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his
saints. Psalm 116:15. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy
victory? … But thanks be to God which gives us the victory (over death) through
our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:55&57
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep (in
death), but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on
incorruptible, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
Jesus said …, I am the resurrection and the Life, whosoever
believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever lives and
believes in Me shall never die. John 11:25-26
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into
the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
For none of us live to himself, and no man dies to himself.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; whether we die, we die unto the
Lord; whether we live, therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end
Christ has both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the
dead and living. Romans 14:7-9.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. … For I am in
a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ, which
is far better… Philippians 1:21-23
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my
departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, I
have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:
and not to me only, but to all them also that love His appearance. 2 Timothy
4:6-8
Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I
return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name
of the Lord. Job 1:21.
Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able
to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves
are comforted of God. … We were pressed out of measure, above strength,
insomuch that we despaired even of life; but we had the sentence of death in
ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises from
the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in Whom we
trust that He will yet deliver us. 2nd
Corinthians 1:4 & 8b-10.
But I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them
that are dead, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if
we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which have died in
Jesus will God bring with Him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.
Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:
yea, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do
follow them. Revelation 14:13
Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation
20:6
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there
shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any
more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4.
For we know
that if our earthly house (body), this tent, is
destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands,
eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to
be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if
indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who
are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to
be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by
life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God,
who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 2 Corinthians 5:1-5
NKJV.
So, we
are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body,
we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by
sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from
the body and to be present with the Lord. Therefore, we make it our aim,
whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For
we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may
receive the things done in the body, according to what he has
done, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 NKJV.
He shall
change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body,
according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto
Himself. Philippians 3:21.
Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we
know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see Him as
He is. 1 John 3:2.
