Turkey Defense Talks With Russia on S400 Missiles Have Progressed, Minister Says

(Reuters) Talks between Turkey and Russia for Ankara to procure S400 missiles for a domestic air defense system have “progressed significantly”, Turkey’s Defense Minister Fikri Isik, said on Wednesday.

In another news-bite Interfax/Reuters reported that Turkey’s Erdogan will Visit Russia on March 9-10. Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Russia in March to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin aiming to further improve ties between the two countries, the Interfax news agency said on Monday citing diplomatic sources.

Dennis Edwards: I have gone over the countries involved in the invasion of Israel prophesied in the Bible before. The fact that Russia and Turkey are making these military and financial commitments is further confirmation that we are moving closer to these events.

Back in 1994 William T James author and editor of two Christian books with essays on the subject of Bible prophecy speculated about whether the battle of Ezekiel 38 and 39, the end-time invasion of Israel, was on the horizon. In his article Wars, Rumors, Raging Human Seas of Hatred, he asks if we could we see at that time the coalition of nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 working together or moving in a direction towards military cooperation? [1]

James says,

"Most scholars who study this future matter agree that the nation at the nucleus of that end-time invasion will be Russia, whose leadership will conceive the evil thought to go down and take for themselves the riches of all that region."

He continues,

"The premise of Earth's Final Days, Essays in Apocalypse III, at least in part, is to examine whether our present generation bears resemblance to the prophesied end-time generation. It is relevant to ask: Can we now see such a bloc of nations configuring that might fulfill the invasion scenario prophesied by Ezekiel?"

Further in the 1994 article James asks,

"The tremendous outbreak of conflicts in that region to the uttermost north of Jerusalem causes the wise student of prophecy to ask the question: Could the pressing need to put the lid back on the chaos and lawlessness be part of the "evil thought" that will come into the mind of "Gog" (the end-time leader of Magog)?"

James concludes,

"Is Russia the Magog of Ezekiel 38 and 39? Almost certainly. Is Russia, during our present generation, shaping up along the lines prophesied by the great prophet of God? Many scholars... think so."

Wow. Back in 1994, James believed that the then present situation seemed to be moving in the direction of Bible prophecy. How much more so today with the situation in Syria and Iraq, and the lack of progress with the proposed Palestinian state? Could Russia finally decide to invade Jerusalem and the Middle East with the pretense of stopping the violence and bringing order to the present chaos and secure for the Palestinian's a free Palestinian state?

The announcement that Turkey will be buying the Russian air defense system further unites their alliance of late. The announcement further confirms that Turkey is moving more and more into the Russian globe of influence and out of NATO and America's sphere. The second Reuters/Interfax news-bite further confirms Turkey's intentions. In 1994, when Turkey was firmly in the American camp, James wrote,

"Ezekiel 38 predicts a great northern power (Russia) will invade the Mid-East, accompanied by some of the former Soviet Republics and most of the Muslim nations, including Iran, Libya, Syria, Iraq, and maybe Turkey."

Notice here how he wrote, "maybe Turkey." However, the prophecy in Ezekiel clearly indicates Turkey, "the house of Togarmah of the north quarters," will be part of the invading force. At the time James was writing, since Turkey was allied with America through NATO and Israel, he questioned whether Turkey would be in the coalition. He should have believed the Bible over what he saw and he could have been credited for a more accurate prediction.

Notice, James also added Syria and Iraq as part of the coalition of invading nations, but neither name is mentioned in the original prophecy. He was using his current understanding of the political situation in 1994 to impose an inaccurate interpretation of the prophecy. Both Iraq and Syria were enemies of Israel at that time with formidable military power. However, with the present situation where both countries are pretty much in ruins, we can understand why their names are not mentioned in the invading force. James, as a serious Bible student, should have known better and should not have included them. But we live and we learn.

In the end, Israel will be invaded in spite of all it's armaments and America's help and receive the judgments of God for her sins, as will the rest of the world. God's word tells us,

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.[] If they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, says the Lord.[2]

God's word is true for every nation, communist, capitalist, right, left,or center. If the nations reject God's loving commandments, they will reap the sad results.

Merkel Calls for Joint Efforts With Russia to Battle Islamist Terrorism

(Reuters) German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday said Europe’s ties with Russia remained challenging, but it was important to work with Russia in the fight against Islamist terrorism.

Dennis Edwards: I've shared with you before that the Bible seems to indicate there will be an alliance between Russia and Europe in the days leading up to the famous battle of Armageddon.  The prophecy from Ezekiel says,

Image result for ezekiel 38 invasion route

38 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

Some Bible scholars believe Gomer refers to Europe or Eastern Europe or Germany, while others push Gomer into Turkey. Magog is traditionally seen as Russia, with Meshech as Moscow. Togarmah is generally seen as Turkey, or Armenia. However since Turkey has one of the largest standing armies in the Middle East, I tend to believe Togamah is Turkey. The prophecy continues and says these events will take place in the "latter years," when the land of Israel will be re-inhabited and Jews will have returned from many nations. remember this prophecy was written during the Babylonian captivity around 586BC.

8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. 9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

10 Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, 12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

In the next verses we have reference to Israel's most ardent supporters including the American bought Saudi Arabia (Sheba and Dedan), the UK (Tarshish), and all the countries descendant from the UK, which would be the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and possibly India. These are Israel's potential allies who would join in her defense.

13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? 15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; 20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

Sounds like the fearful events of the Battle of Armageddon and the judgments of God upon the nations of the world for rejecting His commandments and ways. So keep your eyes open. It could be later than you think. Let's see how the Trump administration moves in relation to this prophecy. One thing we can be sure on is America's continual unequivocal support for Israel.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother. 22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Do you know the other events in Bible Prophecy that will precede this invasion? What about the unification of the world as a one-world global community? What about the signing of the seven-year peace pact which brings peace to the Middle East and enables Israel to build their desired Third Temple on the Temple Mount? What about the rise of the Antichrist to power? What about the ten nations that unite with the Antichrist and help destroy Babylon the Whore? What about the breaking of the Covenant or seven-year peace pact? What happens then? When does the obligatory Mark of the Beast or what many believe will be a bio-metric implant take place? These and other questions like them, I will try to answer in my next book on Where is America in Bible Prophecy? But until then you might want to watch Mark McMillions dvds here. Or listen to Joseph Candel talking with Simon Peterson here.
