I'm Just a Going Over Jordan!

Dennis Edwards

I had wanted to add a little more but had to rush out and take my daughter to the bus. David finished the Psalm with, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." We've got to do the waiting. We've got to attempt to enter into His presence with thanksgiving and praise, and then, wait. Wait for Him to speak to us. Wait for His still small voice to tell us that all is okay and He is in control. Wait until His Spirit comforts us and we can take courage and be encouraged. Then, after we've done the waiting and have come into His presence and been strengthen, then, we can go and minister to others in His Spirit, with His love and wisdom and grace. Therefore, do not faint in your mind, but renew your mind by spending time with Jesus. He is the author and finisher of your faith and promises to strengthen you and help you, and uphold you with the right hand of His righteousness. It is good to draw nigh to God. It is good to wait on the Lord.

Be Urgent in Your Witness - the End is Near!

 Dennis Edwards

What I liked about Louie's talk is the concept of being urgent in the spirit in our responsibility to share our faith and love and knowledge of God's Word and plans with others as much as possible. Apostle Paul said, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."

In the book of Acts Luke records Paul's last words to some of the disciples on leaving for Rome under arrest for sedition. Paul says, "And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house....I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God....Therefore, watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears."

Our job as followers of Jesus Christ is not only to connect people to Jesus, but to teach them the word so that they may be able to teach others.  An important part of their studies must, therefore, include Bible Prophecy to prepare them for the days to come, which more and more seem to be at our feet.
