January 16 TDV
“A crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead
of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
The Lord has turned my mourning into dancing. I have put off
my clothes of grief and have put on the robes of gladness. I am dressed in the
joy of the Lord which gives me strength. I, who did mourn for my own sin and
the sin of the world, have been comforted by the love and life of God found in
Jesus Christ the redeeming Shepherd. Blessed am I that did mourn, for I have
been comforted.
He has made my heart to hear joy and gladness. The bones
that were broken do now rejoice. In everything do I give thanks, for it is the
Lord’s mercies that I am not consumed. His compassions fail not. They are new
every morning. Though weeping has endured for a night, joy has come once again
in the morning. Great is Your faithfulness Lord unto me.
Therefore, I do rejoice and enter into His presence with
thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. I make a joyful noise and serve
the Lord with gladness for the Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting and
His truth endures to all generations.
“Rejoice in the Lord; and again, I say, Rejoice.” “I will
sing unto the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to God while I have my
being. My meditation in Him shall be sweet. I will be glad in the Lord.” “Oh,
that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and His wonderful works to the children
of men. He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
“You are My God and I will praise You. You are my God; I
will exalt You. Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endures
for ever.” “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to
come. You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you
have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created.”
“And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels around
about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten
thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands (or more than a hundred
million – in USA measurement); saying
with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and
riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth,
and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them,
heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that
sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts
said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that
lives for ever and ever.”
“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and
them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his
mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the
harps of God. And they sang the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song
of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are Your works, Lord God Almighty,
just and true are Your ways, You King of saints.”
“And, behold, I (Jesus) come quickly; and My reward is with
Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the
beginning and the end, the first and the last.” “Surely I come quickly.”
