January 18th TDV
“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you!”
“That there be no complaining in our streets. Happy is that
people that is in such a case. Yes, happy is that people whose God is the Lord.”
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the
hearers.”
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be
acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”
“For he that offers praise glorifies God.” “Let your yea be yea,
and your nay, nay.” “For a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
“Righteous lips are a delight of kings and they love him
that speaks right.” “Put away from you a forward (or deceitful) mouth, and
perverse (or devious) lips put far from you.”
“Whoso mocks the poor reproaches his Maker and he that is
glad at calamities shall not go unpunished.” “Pleasant words are as a honey
comb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones.”
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they
that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” “For a man has joy by the answer of
his mouth and a word spoken in due season, how good it is.”
“But the tongue can no man tame, it is an unruly evil, full
of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father, and therewith curse
we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth
proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren these things ought not so to be.”
“Does a fountain send forth out of the same place sweet
water and bitter? … Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you, let
him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.”
“But if there be bitter envying and strife in your hearts,
glory not and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descends not from above,
but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is there is
confusion and every evil work.”
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, without hypocrisy.”
“Let all bitterness, and wrath and anger, and clamour, and
evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice. And be kind one to
another, tender hearted forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake
has forgiven you.”
“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has
given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling
savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be
once named among you, as becomes saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish
talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient; but rather giving of thanks.”
“Giving thanks always for all things with God and the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
