The Life of Prayer!

The life of prayer can be one of excitement, because you never know how great the results of your prayers will be. Such little time invested, with such monumental outcomes! Something so little as prayer can be multiplied over and over in the lives of the people you pray for.
As you put forth your efforts and investment of time in prayer and you call on My Spirit to intervene in situations and influence the hearts and lives of people, it comes back to you in the form of joy, answers, healing, open doors, supply, and on and on it goes.
Part of availing yourself of My promises of the power of prayer is being proactive in your prayers. Commit the needs, goals, and progress of the future to Me in full faith, knowing that I will hear your every prayer and the answers will come at just the right moment, when they are most needed.
What better preparations could you make for any project, program, or achievement than to commit every detail, advance preparations, and outcome to Me? In doing so, you are placing your trust in Me to prepare the way in advance, in the way that I know will be best before you even get there. Instead of being “reactive” to situations as they happen, you can be thinking, planning, praying, and committing them to Me in advance.
There are many times that you will pray reactive prayers, as you respond to the everyday problems, challenges, and situations that arise. But if you commit time to praying proactively, you will open your heart and mind to what lies ahead and what is needed to resolve issues before they become problems.
When you pray proactively you project yourself into the future, and as you do this, I’m able to speak to your heart about what you should pray for. What do you want to see Me do in your life, ministry, and work? What answers to prayer are needed in order to make progress? What progress is needed in your life and relationships with others? Where do you want to be in the future, what have I called you to do? Think ahead, pray about it, project into the future, and then keep praying as I continue to guide you step by step.
It’s never too soon to start praying for something. As you pray in advance, you’ll find the path before you will be clearer, and you’ll be better prepared for the problems and challenges you will face.
Prayers that are full of faith for the future begin the work that is needed to pave the way—setting up events, changing hearts, lives, and minds; organizing logistics. By the time you personally arrive in that future, the most important work has been done, and you can do your part to walk through the doors that are standing wide open for you due to the prayers you sent ahead of time.
Do you like to be prepared? Are you the kind of person who likes to think and plan ahead so that things run smoothly? If so, take those desires for organization and smooth running and translate them into proactive prayers. Don’t just think, pray! Turn your thoughts into proactive prayers. Define the need, claim it in prayer‚ and count it done.

A relationship, not a ritual

When My disciples came to Me and said, “Lord, teach us to pray,” I gave them a model prayer, an example to follow so that they could pray. I didn’t do all the praying for them. So likewise you also must learn to pray without ceasing and to seek My face, and I will answer and speak to your hearts.
In My love for you I answer your prayers and I give you the guidance you seek. It pleases Me that you seek Me. Continue in all your ways to seek Me, and I will lead and guide you and manifest My love to you. I love to lead, guide, and instruct you, so that we can walk together and you can be My hands, My heart, My eyes, and My love to those around you.
So pray without ceasing! Keep the prayer fires burning! Difficult situations require more earnest prayers, and sometimes you must keep fanning the flame, keep fueling the fire, so that it won’t go out. Keep the fires burning until the desired results are met.
Be earnest and fervent, not rigid in your prayers or formal and stiff. Come to Me with enthusiasm and fervor. I seek a relationship with you, not a ritual. I want your heart and your love!

Hope for the future

Take time to meditate on My unfailing Love. For I am your God forever and ever; I will be your Guide even to the end. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you meditate on My loving Presence—to bring your mind back to Me whenever it wanders. Encourage yourself with the words of the patriarch Jacob: “Surely the Lord is in this place.” Rejoice that I am your God forevermore—today, tomorrow, and throughout all eternity.
I am also your Guide. It is easy to be spooked by the future when you forget that I am leading you each step along your life-path. Ever since you trusted Me as Savior, My guiding Presence has been available to you. I am training you to be increasingly aware of Me as you go about your daily activities.
You can draw near to Me at any time simply by whispering My Name. Later, when you have more time, bring Me your prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Relax in the wondrous assurance that I am your Guide even to the end.
Christian hope is strongly linked to My Presence—which is with you now and throughout eternity. So the more aware you are of My Presence, the more hopeful you will feel. Even though you believe that I am with you always, there may be times when you feel distant from Me. This diminishes your hopefulness.
Do not hesitate to ask for My help. For instance, you can simply pray, “Jesus, keep me aware of You.” This prayer is so short and simple that you can use it as often as needed.
Sometimes you limp through a day feeling empty and alone. But I say to you at such times, “You do not have because you do not ask.”
Hoping in Me is the most realistic way to live because of who I am. Since I am the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, nothing can thwart My promises. As you marvel at how great, glorious, and trustworthy I am, your praises will fill you with hope—and with rich awareness of My Presence.1

Faith Boosters

Words from Jesus

Mountain-moving faith

Faith is the true coinage of heaven. Faith is the key that unlocks the treasure house of My blessings—My spiritual blessings, My material blessings, all of My blessings. For without faith, it is impossible to please Me. For he that comes to Me must believe that I am the rewarder of those that diligently seek Me.1 When you seek Me, you do so because of your faith, knowing that I do hear and I answer. I honor your faith and honor My Word—My promises to you.

I am not a man that I should lie, nor the son of man that I should repent.2 Have I said and shall I not do it? Have I not promised that I will supply your every need,3 and that I would open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing you could not contain, if you believe My words and obey them?4

But there are times when you have not because you ask not.5 I know your situation. I know your every problem. I know every tiny detail, and I have a great plan that will unfold at the touch of your faith. Your faith can move mighty mountains of obstacles and difficulties. Because if you put your faith in Me and My Word, I will move the mountains, I will overcome the obstacles, and I will provide the solutions.

A living tree

My house is a living house, and My temple is a living temple. I make you living stones and living beings in the house of God.6 Your roots shall grow and bind together the soil, so that the wind will not blow it away. Your trunk shall provide strength and support for the house of God. Your limbs shall provide shade and shelter and fruit for the people of God—a living tree in a living house.

Be strong in the Lord. Be strong in the promises of God. Stand firm. Be not easily shaken or soon disturbed. Dig deep; drink deeply from the Word of God. Hold fast that which you have, and I will give you a crown of life at My appearing. I will strengthen you, My faithful one, in the house of God as you shelter others. Strengthen those beside you and lift up your arms to God in praise with your heart and lips. Pour forth the praises of your lips, the sweet perfume of your praises.

Praise God, ye saints, with all of your heart, and you shall not lack in the land. You shall not be forsaken, for I shall gently watch over you and keep you and those you care for. Lift up your hands, O ye saints. Praise Me in the sanctuary.

Strengthen the hands of the weak, for I have given you strength to strengthen others. I have given you strength that you know not of. I have made you a well of cool water in a dry and thirsty land. I have made you as a rock in the desert, a shade to many. Stay close to Me. Be a firm foundation to anchor others in My living temple.

No boundaries

My love for you knows no boundaries. I have chosen you and you have chosen Me. Continue in My love. I am always with you, to whisper in your ear and to hear your prayers and your words of love and praise.

You shine with such beauty—the beauty of My salvation, the beauty of knowing Me. Continue to shine. I have begun a good work in you, and I will perform it until the end.

Do not fear the tests that come your way, for they only serve to shine and to polish you and to make you glow and to make your light more brilliant. So many see trials and tests as punishments, but they are My touches of love, which bring forth the shining light of My love, My compassion, and My understanding.

So do not fear the tests, for they only tend to bring forth more love in your life, and more light, more strength, and an even deeper closeness with Me.

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.—1 Peter 1:77

Hidden treasures

In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.—Colossians 2:38

Approach each new day with desire to find Me. Before you get out of bed, I have already been working to prepare the path that will get you through this day. There are hidden treasures strategically placed along the way. Some of the treasures are trials, designed to shake you free from earth-shackles. Others are blessings that reveal My presence: sunshine, flowers, birds, friendships, answered prayers. I have not abandoned this sin-racked world; I am still richly present in it.

Search for deep treasure as you go through the day. You will find Me all along the way.9

In that day he will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord will be your treasure.—Isaiah 33:610

The Master’s pruning

Remember that the single set of footprints that you see in the sand are not yours, but Mine. At times in the earth life you can feel alone and forsaken. I was touched with the feeling of that same infirmity on the cross, when it seemed that the Father had forsaken Me. But I encourage you to press on, continue on no matter what you feel, and it won't be long before you will know that you have made the right decision.

When the gardener prunes his bushes, they may look a little naked and destitute for a while, but he does it out of love in order to bring forth more fruit. When the air warms and the sun shines after the winter, and the leaves come out and the blossoms grow, the plants are more radiant and beautiful than ever before.

Likewise, the master gardener does not wield the cutters endlessly, without reprieve. After the time of pruning and purging, He waits patiently to see the fruit thereof. Therefore rest assured that the time of blossoming and bearing fruit will come, and you will radiate, sparkle, and shine, and find fulfillment in doing My will.

Be Positive

You can’t always choose your circumstances, but you can choose your outlook on life. You can choose to be stiff, stern and grumpy, or be upbeat, cheerful and positive. Sure, you may sometimes feel down or you may be struggling with pain or discomfort, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be an encouragement to those around you.

Every stage of life has its upsides and downsides. Focus on the upsides. Be positive. Think and talk about the good things-and keep at it for the rest of your days.

It says in the Bible that as a person thinks, so is he. If you make a habit of viewing situations positively, you will not only be happier for it, but you will be a positive person-the kind others love to be around.

Words From Jesus!

The path of true greatness is the path that goes through Me. I cannot make you great until you have come to Me with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind, and all of your strength.

These things that you have passed through are not defeats, but they are stepping stones to glory--not the glory of man, but the glory of God, the glory of humility, the glory of utter dependence upon Me, the glory of My Spirit working through the humble heart, the trusting soul, the yielded mind, the loving spirit.

So know and understand that the things that you suffer, the hardships that you are faced with, the burdens that you bear, the testing, the purging, the trying, the heartache and heartbreak, the pressure, the squeezing, the difficulties and sufferings, do not take you away from Me. They are not a sign of My displeasure. They are not meant to show that I am not there. They are the steps that you must go through to come to Me.

But know that I am always there. In the deepest and darkest experiences and in the greatest despair, I am there. Turn and face Me and trust Me, even when all else seems so dark. Trust Me, for I take you through the darkness that I may bring you out into My glorious light--the light of My love, My truth, My strength, and My power.
