O Deus de Daniel - o revelador de segredos

No livro de Daniel no Antigo Testamento, encontramos Daniel e seus amigos vivendo em cativeiro na Babilônia durante o reinado de Nabucodonosor. Por serem filhos de nobres, foram escolhidos para serem treinados nas ciências dos babilônios. No entanto, quando vão para a escola babilônica para treinamento, são apresentados a alimentos que não estão acostumados a comer, alimentos proibidos pelas leis de Moisés.
Eles decidem manter suas convicções e se recusam a comer os alimentos babilônicos, preferindo a dieta basicamente vegetariana de sua cultura. Como resultado, Deus os abençoa. No final, eles passam nos exames das ciências da Babilônia tão bem que a BÃblia diz:
Em toda matéria de sabedoria e de inteligência sobre que o rei lhes fez perguntas, os achou dez vezes mais doutos do que todos os magos e encantadoes que havia em todo o seu reino. Daniel 1:20
Nos Salmos, lemos estas promessas:
Os teus mandamentos me fazem mais sábio que os meus inimigos; porque, aqueles, eu os tenho sempre comigo. Compreendo mais do que todos os meus mestres, porque medito nos teus testemunhos. Sou mais prudente que os idosos, poque guardo os teus preceitos. Salmos 119:98-100
Aqueles que meditam na Palavra de Deus e seguem Seus preceitos recebem sabedoria do Alto.
Com o passar do tempo, Nabucodonosor, o rei da Babilônia, teve um sonho problemático do qual não conseguia se lembrar. Ele conclama todos os sábios da Babilônia a adivinharem o sonho para ele e sua interpretação. Os sábios protestam dizendo que o rei não poderia pedir tal coisa, pois seria impossÃvel para eles saberem o sonho do rei, se ele mesmo não pudesse se lembrar. Mas o rei insiste e diz: "Conte-me o sonho e a interpretação dele ou vocês serão todos mortos."
É neste ponto que Daniel pede ao capitão da guarda que lhe dê tempo e ele descobrirá o sonho e seu significado. Daniel e seus amigos oram desesperadamente e pedem que Deus em Sua misericórdia lhes revele o sonho. Daniel em uma visão à noite vê o sonho do rei e aprende a interpretação dele. E Daniel dá graças a Deus:
Depois, quando Daniel está perante o Rei, o Rei pergunta-lhe se é capaz de lhe fazer conhecer o seu sonho e a sua interpretação. Daniel responde:
O mistério que o rei exigiu, nem sábios, nem encantadores, nem magos, nem adivinhadores lhe podem revelar; 28mas há um Deus no céu, o qual revela os mistérios; ele, pois, fez saber ao rei Nabucodonozor o que há de suceder nos últimos dias. Daniel 2:27-28 E a mim me foi revelado este mistério, não por ter eu mais sabedoria que qualquer outro vivente, mas para que a interpretação se fizesse saber ao rei, e para que entendesses os pensamentos do teu coração. Daniel 2:29Daniel prossegue explicando o sonho e sua interpretação. O rei se curva diante dele, o adora e diz:
Daniel é feito governante de toda a provÃncia da Babilônia e governador-chefe de todos os sábios da Babilônia. Seus amigos também receberam posições de autoridade na provÃncia de Babilônia, mas Daniel serviu como conselheiro do rei. Foi o relacionamento de Daniel com Deus; foi seu desespero e capacidade de ouvir Deus, que o capacitou a interpretar o sonho do rei, uma profecia sobre o futuro do mundo. Ele pode até ter adquirido coragem com a história de José, que ele conheceu no livro de Gênesis, que ele estudou e memorizou quando criança e jovem. A história de José pode ter encorajado Daniel que Deus poderia fazer o mesmo com ele.
Nosso Deus é um revelador dos segredos do futuro. Nas profecias de Amós, lemos:
Certamente o Senhor Deus não fará coisa alguma, sem primeiro revelar o seu segredo aos seus servos, os profetas. Amos 3:7
Na verdade, o livro de Daniel é um dos livros de profecia mais importantes da BÃblia. Um pequeno livro com apenas doze capÃtulos, tem quase oito capÃtulos inteiros dedicados à profecia e dois outros capÃtulos dedicados à oração. Uma profecia que Daniel recebeu previu o ano da morte do Messias e muitas das outras profecias são especificamente para os "últimos dias".
Daniel e seus amigos obedecem a Deus
[Por volta de 605 a.C. Nabucodonosor veio primeiro e sitiou Jerusalém e levou Daniel e seus companheiros cativos. Na ocasião em que Ezequias mostrou os tesouros da casa do Senhor aos emissários da Babilônia, IsaÃas disse a Ezequias: “Ouve a palavra do Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que vêm dias em que tudo o que está em tua casa, e que teus pais reservaram até o dia de hoje, serão levados para a Babilônia; nada sobrará, diz o senhor. E de teus filhos, que sairão de ti, os quais gerarás, eles os levarão; e eles serão eunucos no palácio do rei de Babilônia. ”- IsaÃas 39: 6-7 e 2 Reis 20: 17-18. Essas palavras da boca de IsaÃas foram ditas mais de cem anos antes de se cumprirem. Ezequias reinou por volta de 716 a.C. para 687 a.C. IsaÃas profetizou em 742 a.C. a cerca de 701 a.C. Acredita-se que Daniel e seus companheiros foram criados como eunucos. Vemos que eles estavam sob os auspÃcios do “Mestre dos eunucos”. Ter eunucos como conselheiros era bastante predominante nas culturas primitivas. Frequentemente, eles se tornavam homens poderosos, próximos do governante. Ser eunucos ajudou a concentrar suas preocupações no reino.]
3Então disse o rei a Aspenaz, chefe dos seus eunucos que trouxesse alguns dos filhos de Israel, dentre a linhagem real e dos nobres, 4jovens em quem não houvesse defeito algum, de bela aparência, dotados de sabedoria, inteligência e instrução, e que tivessem capacidade para assistirem no palácio do rei; e que lhes ensinasse as letras e a lÃngua dos caldeus. 5E o rei lhes determinou a porção diária das iguarias do rei, e do vinho que ele bebia, e que assim fossem alimentados por três anos; para que no fim destes pudessem estar diante do rei. 6Ora, entre eles se achavam, dos filhos de Judá, Daniel, Hananias, Misael e Azarias. 7Mas o chefe dos eunucos lhes pôs outros nomes, a saber: a Daniel, o de Beltessazar; a Hananias, o de Sadraque; a Misael, o de Mesaque; e a Azarias, o de Abednego. 
8Daniel, porém, propôs no seu coração não se contaminar com a porção das iguarias do rei, nem com o vinho que ele bebia; portanto pediu ao chefe dos eunucos que lhe concedesse não se contaminar. 9Ora, Deus fez com que Daniel achasse graça e misericórdia diante do chefe dos eunucos.
[Quando o caminho de um homem agrada ao Senhor, Ele faz com que até seus inimigos tenham paz com ele. ” Provérbios 16: 7, "O coração do rei (ou mestre dos eunucos ') está nas mãos do Senhor, como rios de água: Ele o dirige para onde quer." Provérbios 21: 1. Foi o Senhor que moveu o mestre dos eunucos a favorecer Daniel.]
[Daniel pede ao mestre dos eunucos para fazer um experimento e então, quando ele vê os resultados, decide.]
14Assim ele lhes atendeu o pedido, e os experimentou dez dias. 15E, ao fim dos dez dias, apareceram os seus semblantes melhores, e eles estavam mais gordos do que todos os jovens que comiam das iguarias reais. 16Pelo que o despenseiro lhes tirou as iguarias e o vinho que deviam beber, e lhes dava legumes. [Provavelmente, a porção da carne do rei continha muitos dos alimentos impuros que os israelitas foram ordenados a não comer. Deuteronómio 14: 1-20. Daniel queria obedecer a Deus em vez dos homens e manter sua educação religiosa. Ele poderia ter aproveitado a oportunidade para romper os limites da observância da lei e condescender com a carne, mas manteve suas convicções e encorajou seus amigos a fazê-lo. Ele pode ter se lembrado dos Provérbios que ele poderia ter memorizado quando criança. “Quando você se sentar para comer com uma régua, considere cuidadosamente o que está diante de você: e ponha uma faca em sua garganta, se você é um homem dado ao apetite. Não tenhas desejo de suas iguarias, porque são comidas enganosa. ” Provérbios 23: 1-3.
No Novo Testamento, vemos uma declaração semelhante na epÃstola de João: "Não ameis o mundo nem as coisas que estão no mundo. Se alguém ama o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele. Pois tudo o que há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, a concupiscência dos olhos e a soberba da vida, não vem do Pai, mas do mundo. E o mundo passa e as suas concupiscências; mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece para sempre. ” 1 João 2: 15-17.
O apóstolo Paulo tem uma passagem semelhante em uma de suas epÃstolas. Ele escreve: “Não sejais unidos de forma desigual com os incrédulos: pois que sociedade tem a justiça com a injustiça? E que comunhão tem a luz com as trevas? E que concórdia tem Cristo com Belial? Ou que parte ele acredita com um infiel? E que acordo tem o templo de Deus com os Ãdolos? Pois você é o templo do Deus vivo; como Deus disse: Neles habitarei e andarei neles; e eu serei o seu Deus e eles serão o meu povo. Portanto saà do meio deles e separai-vos, diz o Senhor, e não toqueis em coisa impura; e eu os receberei e serei um Pai para vocês e vocês serão meus filhos e filhas, diz o Senhor Todo-Poderoso. ” 2 CorÃntios 6: 14-18
17Ora, quanto a estes quatro jovens, Deus lhes deu o conhecimento e a inteligência em todas as letras e em toda a sabedoria; e Daniel era entendido em todas as visões e todos os sonhos.
[Notamos aqui que Daniel teve entendimento “em todas as visões e sonhos”. Daniel, sem dúvida, teve seu treinamento na palavra de Deus e provavelmente estava familiarizado com o livro de Gênesis e a vida de José. Seu conhecimento da palavra de Deus e como Deus havia trabalhado no passado o teriam encorajado que Deus poderia e faria o mesmo com ele sob Nabucodonosor, como José havia feito sob os faraós no Egito. A história da vida de José e sua habilidade dada por Deus para entender os sonhos teriam fortalecido a expectativa de Daniel de que Deus tinha algo armazenado para ele. Como o apóstolo Paulo escreveu mais tarde: “Ora, todas essas coisas lhes aconteceram como exemplos; e foram escritas para nossa admoestação, para que, pela paciência e consolação das escrituras, tenhamos esperança”. 1 CorÃntios 10: 11ª e Romanos 15: 4b.
Daniel teria lembrado que a compreensão de José, em visões e sonhos o tinha colocado ao lado de Faraó e tinha guardado muita gente. Daniel poderia antecipar que se ficasse perto do Senhor e caminhasse humildemente diante de seu Deus, Deus estaria com ele e seus amigos e os protegeria e os usaria para Sua glória. Seu Deus poderia fazer o mesmo para eles, como Ele tinha feito por José no Egito.]
18E ao fim dos dias, depois dos quais o rei tinha ordenado que fossem apresentados, o chefe dos eunucos os apresentou diante de Nabucodonosor. 19Então o rei conversou com eles; e entre todos eles não foram achados outros tais como Daniel, Hananias, Misael e Azarias; por isso ficaram assistindo diante do rei. 20E em toda matéria de sabedoria e discernimento, a respeito da qual lhes perguntou o rei, este os achou dez vezes mais doutos do que todos os magos e encantadores que havia em todo o seu reino. 21Assim Daniel continuou até o primeiro ano do rei Ciro.
[Assim como se acredita que José serviu sob vários faraós no Egito, Daniel serviu sob vários reis da Babilônia e sob Dario, o medo, e Ciro da Pérsia. Sua total dedicação a Deus, sua fidelidade a Deus, sua integridade e outras qualidades divinas, fizeram dele um pilar nas sociedades seculares em que viveu. Como proclamam os Provérbios: “Você vê alguém hábil no trabalho ou diligente nos negócios? Eles servirão perante reis; eles não servirão para funcionários de baixa classificação. ” Provérbios 22:29 NIV. Vamos aplicar esses princÃpios a nossas próprias vidas e aplicar nossas vidas a Deus e Sua palavra. Pode ser que nos tornemos pessoas de entendimento que instruem a muitos e façam proezas nos últimos dias. Dan.11: 32-33ª.

Daniel and His Friends Obey God
Daniel 1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah,
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And
the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the
articles of [a]the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the
house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of
his god.
[Around 605 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar first came
and besieged Jerusalem and took away Daniel and his mates captive. At the time that Hezekiah showed the
treasures of the house of the Lord to the Babylonian emissaries, Isaiah said to
Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the Lord of hosts: Behold, the days come, that all
that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until
this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, says the lord.
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shall beget, shall they
take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”-
Isaiah 39:6-7 and 2 Kings 20:17-18. These words from the mouth of Isaiah were
spoken more than a hundred years before they were fulfilled. Hezekiah reigned
from around 716 B.C. to 687 B.C. Isaiah prophesized from 742 B.C. to to around
701 B.C. It is believed that Daniel and his mates were thus brought up as
eunuchs. We see they were under the áuspices of the “Mater of the eunuchs.”
Having eunuchs as counselors was quite predominant in early cultures. They
often became powerful men, close to the ruler. Being eunuchs helped to
concentrate their concerns to the kingdom.]
Daniel 1:3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and [b]literature of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king. 6 Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. 7 To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.
Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9 Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and [c]goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.
[When a man’s way please the Lord, He
makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7, “The king’s (or
master of the eunuchs’) heart is in the hand of the Lord, as rivers of water:
He turns it whithersoever He will.” Proverbs 21:1. It was the Lord that moved
the master of the eunuchs to favor Daniel.]
Daniel 1:10 And
the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has
appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse
than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger
my head before the king.”
11 So Daniel said to [d]the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” 14 So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days.
{Daniel asks the master of the eunuchs to
do an experimente and then when he sees the results, decide.]
Daniel 1:15 And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in
flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s
delicacies. 16 Thus [e]the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they
were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
[Most likely, the portion of the king’s meat contained many of the unclean foods that the Israelites were commanded not to eat. Deuteronomy 14:1-20. Daniel wanted to obey God rather than men and keep to his religious upbringing. He could have used the opportunity to throw off the boundage of law keeping and indulge the flesh, but he kept to his convictions and encouraged his friends in the same. He may have remembered the Proverbs he might have put to memory as a child. “When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you: and put a knife to your throat, if you be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.” Proverbs 23:1-3.
Or maybe he thought about the first
temptation of our first parents in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis we read, “And
when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to
the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit
thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; andhe did eat.”
No doubt, the king’s portion was food that was pleasant to the eyes, and the
master of the eunuch would encourage them that it would help make them wise.
But the young men, being familiar with the fall of Adam and Eve, withstood the
temptation and chose to obey God rather than men. God honored their obedience
and trust in Him.
In the New Testament we see a similar statement in John’s epistle, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world. And the world passes away, and the lusts thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17.
Daniel and his companions were being
tested with this simple test. They thought to themselves, None of our family
and culture are here to observe what we do. Shall we commit to our religious
and cultural eating habits, and obey the commandments of God which we have been
taught? Or shall we take the opportunity to enjoy ourselves and eat and drink
the “forbidden fruit.” Daniel and his friends chose rather to remain faithful
to the instruction they had received from their parents and from the word of
God.
Apostle Paul has a similar passage in one of his epistles. He writes, “Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what concord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he the believes with an infidel? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
We see then that Daniel and his mates
sought God’s will first, above their own possible wants and desires and
tendency to conform to peer pressure and circumstances, or fleshly temptations.
They brought their body into subject, as Apostle Paul wrote later. 1
Corinthians 9:27. They held to their
Biblical convictions and sought first God’s will. Like Jesus was to pronounce
so clearly many years later, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.
Daniel and his friends sought God first above all, which is the first
commandment that God gave to His people. “And you shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.”
Deuteronomy 6:5.]
Daniel 1:17 As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
[We notice here that Daniel had
understanding “in all visions and dreams.” Daniel, no doubt, had had his
training in the word of God and most likely was familiar with the book of
Genesis and the life of Joseph. His knowledge of God’s word and how God had worked
in the past would have encouraged him that God could and would do the same with
him under Nebuchadnezzar as Joseph had done under the Pharoahs in Egypt. The
history of Joseph’s life and his God-given ability to understand dreams would
have strengthened Daniel’s anticipation that God had something instore for him.
As Apostle Paul later wrote, “Now all these things happened unto them for
ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, that we through patience
and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” 1 Corinthians 10:11ª & Romans
15:4b.
Daniel would have remembered that Joseph’s understanding in visions and dreams had put him next to Pharoah and had saved much people. Daniel could anticipate that if he stayed close to the Lord and walked humbly before his God that God would be with him and his mates and protect them and use them for His glory.]
18 Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be
brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before
Nebuchadnezzar. 19 Then the king [f]interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah,
Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. 20 And
in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the
king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers
who were in all his realm. 21 Thus
Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus.
[Just as it is believed that Joseph served under various Pharoahs in Egypt, Daniel served under various King’s of Babylon and under Darios, the Mede, and Cyrus of Persia. His utter dedication to God, his faithfulness to God, his integrity and other Godly qualities, made him a pillar in the secular societies in which he lived. Like the Proverbs proclaim, “Do you see someone skilled in their work or diligent in business? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before low ranked officals.” Proverbs 22:29 NIV. Let us apply these principles to our own lives and apply our lives to God and His word. It may be that we become the people of understanding who instruct many and do exploits in the last days. Dan.11:32-33ª.
Let
us remember, also, that if we learn, meditate upon and keep God’s commandments,
His testimonies, His precepts; we will be wiser than our enemies, our teachers
and the wise old men of the world. Psalm 119: 98-100. If we meditate on His word and observe to do
all that is written therein, He will make our way propserous and we will have
good success. Josuah 1:8. Let us obey God rather than men, that men may take
knowledge of us, that we have been with Jesus. Acts 5:29 & 4:13.]

Cantarei louvores ao Senhor!
Salmos 95:1-2 “Vinde, cantemos ao Senhor, com júbilo. Celebremos o Rochedo da nossa salvação. Saiamos ao seu encontro, com ações de graças, vitoriemo-lo com salmos.”
Salmos 22:3 “Contudo, Tu és santo, entronizado entre os louvores de Israel.”
Salmos 100: 1-2,4 “Celebrai com júbilo ao Senhor, todas as terras. Servi ao Senhor com alegria, apresentai-vos diante dele com cântico. Entrai por suas portas com ações de graças e nos seus átrios, com hinos de louvor; rende-lhe graças e bendizei-lhe o nome.”
Salmos 98:1,4-5 “Cantai ao Senhor um cântico novo, porque ele tem feito maravilhas; a sua destra e o seu braço santo lhe alcançaram a vitória. Salmos 104:33-34 “Cantarei ao Senhor enquanto eu viver; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus durante a minha vida. Seja-lhe agradável a minha meditação; eu me alegrarei no Senhor.”
Salmos 105:1-2 “Rendei graças ao Senhor, invocai o seu nome, fazei conhecidos, entre os povos, os seus feitos. Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos; narrai todas as suas maravilhas.”
Salmos 108:1,3 “Firme está o meu coração, ó Deus! Cantarei e
entoarei louvores de toda a minha alma. Render-te-ei graças entre os povos, ó
Senhor!
