When Jesus Showed Up
It never ceases to amaze me how Jesus shows up in the dark and difficult places of our lives. One such example is told in Luke 8.
Jesus, already being thronged by crowds of people eager to hear His words, is begged by Jairus, a cleric and a man of some importance, to come to his home and heal his dying daughter.
Jesus agrees and begins making his way to Jairus’ home. As He walks through the busy, crowded streets, a woman who has been sick for 12 long years catches hold of His clothing for a moment, and the Bible says she was healed immediately.
Just then, messengers arrive from Jairus’ house, saying, “It’s too late, your daughter has died. Don’t bother Jesus any longer.” But Jesus says, “Don’t fear; only believe and she will be made well,” so they continue to the house.
When they arrive in the midst of great mourning, Jesus leaves the scoffers outside, taking only the girl’s parents and a handpicked few inside, and calls the child to arise. And arise she does, a 12-year-old girl no longer snatched away by death, but restored to life.
There’s a beautiful message in this passage for each of us—that wherever we are and whatever our situation, there is healing and restoration available. The woman who had suffered for 12 agonizing years must have wished for death; instead, Christ gave her a new lease on life in a moment, along with forgiveness and peace. The 12-year-old girl whose life suddenly ended before it had hardly begun was granted a continuation, along with full healing.
Jesus still turns to us in the midst of our confusion and says, “Touch Me, and be restored.” Crowds of thoughts, voices of doubt, or years of pain and struggles cannot keep us from being recognized by Him; all it takes is a moment of reaching out and believing.
We might feel like our whole life—our plans, dreams, family, or health—has died abruptly, and we’ll never rise again. But our Lord knows that we’re only sleeping. He holds our hands when we can’t lift ourselves, gently calling us to arise and continue on.

1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

A Voz Diária - 4 de fevereiro - Se padecemos (com ele), também com ele reinaremos.
Hebreus 2:17-18 Por isso, em tudo convinha que se tornasse semelhante aos seus irmãos, para que fosse um sumo sacerdote misericordioso e fiel em relação a Deus, a fim de fazer propiciação pelos pecados do povo. Pois, tendo ele próprio sofrido quando tentado, é capaz de socorrer os que são tentados.
Socorrer significa auxiliar e apoiar em tempos de dificuldade e angústia.
Jesus foi tentado no Jardim do Getsémani a desistir e a abandonar tudo. Em vez disso, orou, clamou a Deus e submeteu-se à vontade de Deus, e não à sua própria. Tendo passado por esta experiência e por outras experiências de vida que enfrentou, Jesus é um sumo sacerdote que se compadece das nossas fraquezas. Ele já cá esteve. Ele enviar-nos-á ajuda na hora da tentação, se O procurarmos com forte clamor e lágrimas, ou de todo o coração.
1 Pedro 4:1 Portanto, visto que Cristo sofreu por nós na carne, armem-se também vocês com a mesma disposição.
Tal como disse o apóstolo Paulo, precisamos de nos revestir da mente de Cristo, e o apóstolo Pedro reforça esta ideia. Pedro afirma que revestir-se da mente de Cristo capacita-nos para suportar o sofrimento. Fortalece-nos para confiar em Deus durante o sofrimento. Jesus aprendeu a obediência através do sofrimento. Também nós podemos aprender a obedecer a Deus através do sofrimento.
Hebreus 12:6 Porque o Senhor corrige a quem ama e castiga todo aquele a quem aceita como filho.
Se confiarmos em Deus no meio do sofrimento e entregarmos o que estamos a passar nas Suas mãos, Ele usará isso para o nosso bem. Sairemos do sofrimento ilesos.
Hebreus 12:11-12 Ora, nenhuma disciplina parece ser motivo de alegria no momento, mas sim de tristeza. Mais tarde, porém, produz fruto de justiça e de paz para aqueles que por ela foram exercitados. Por isso, levantem as mãos cansadas e os joelhos vacilantes.
Deus não quer que nos desanimemos e desanimemos nas nossas lutas e sofrimentos. Têm um bom propósito e produzirão benefÃcios nas nossas vidas, desde que continuemos a confiar e a agradecer-Lhe.
1 Tessalonicenses 5:18 Em tudo dai graças, porque esta é a vontade de Deus em Cristo Jesus para convosco.

1 Pedro 4:7 e 12-13 Mas o fim de todas as coisas está próximo; sede, pois, sóbrios e vigiai em oração. … Amados, não estranheis a dura prova que vos sobreveio, como se alguma coisa estranha vos estivesse a acontecer; mas alegrai-vos por participardes nos sofrimentos de Cristo, para que também na revelação da sua glória exulteis com grande alegria.
2 Timóteo 2:12 Se padecemos (com ele), também com ele reinaremos.
Sofrer agora, mas reinar depois; ou reinar agora e sofrer depois. Essa é a opção.
Romanos 8:17b-18 Se de facto padecemos com ele, para que também com ele sejamos glorificados. Porque considero que os sofrimentos do tempo presente não se comparam com a glória que em nós será revelada.
1 CorÃntios 2:9 Nem olhos viram, nem ouvidos ouviram, nem jamais penetrou em coração humano o que Deus tem preparado para aqueles que o amam.
Mantenhamos os nossos olhos fixos em Jesus e aceitemos o nosso sofrimento com alegria. Uma coroa de glória nos espera, se não desfalecermos. Segure a sua coroa. Valerá a pena!

Hebreos 2:17-18 Por lo cual, en todo debÃa ser semejante a sus hermanos (tú y yo), para ser un sumo sacerdote misericordioso y fiel en lo que a Dios se refiere, para expiar los pecados del pueblo. Pues en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer (es decir, asistir y apoyar en tiempos de dificultad y angustia) a los que son tentados.
Jesús fue tentado en el Huerto de Getsemanà para que se diera por vencido. En cambio, oró y clamó a Dios, encomendándose a la voluntad de Dios, no a la suya. Habiendo pasado por esa experiencia y las demás que enfrentó, Jesús es un sumo sacerdote que se compadece de nuestras debilidades. Él ha estado aquÃ. Él nos enviará ayuda en nuestra hora de tentación, si lo buscamos con fuerte llanto y lágrimas, o con todo nuestro corazón.
1 Pedro 4:1 Puesto que Cristo ha padecido por nosotros en la carne, armaos también vosotros del mismo sentir.
Como dijo el apóstol Pablo, necesitamos revestirnos de la mente de Cristo. El apóstol Pedro refuerza esa idea. Pedro dice que revestirnos de la mente de Cristo nos permite soportar el sufrimiento. Nos capacita para confiar en Dios durante él. Jesús aprendió obediencia a través de lo que sufrió. Nosotros también podemos aprender a obedecer a Dios a través de lo que sufrimos.
Hebreos 12:6 Porque el Señor al que ama, disciplina, y azota a todo el que recibe por hijo.
Si confiamos en Dios a través de nuestro sufrimiento y encomendamos lo que estamos atravesando en sus manos, él lo usará para nuestro bien. Saldremos de nuestro sufrimiento sin olor a humo.
Hebreos 12:11-12 Es cierto que ninguna disciplina al presente parece ser causa de gozo, sino de tristeza; sin embargo, después da fruto apacible de justicia a los que en ella han sido ejercitados. Por tanto, alcen las manos caÃdas y las rodillas debilitadas.
Dios no quiere que nos desanimemos ni desmayemos en nuestras luchas y sufrimientos. Son para un buen propósito y traerán beneficios a nuestras vidas, siempre que sigamos confiando en Él y dándole gracias.
1 Tesalonicenses 5:18 Dad gracias en todo, porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para con vosotros en Cristo Jesús.

The Daily Voice - February 4 - If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him
Hebrews 2:17-18 Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren (you and me), that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to succour, (which means to assist and support in times of hardship and distress), them that are tempted.
Jesus was tempted in the Garden of Gethsemane to give up and
quit. Instead, He prayed and called out to God and committed Himself to God’s
will, not His own. Having gone through that experience and the other life
experiences He faced, Jesus is a high priest who is touched with the feeling of
our infirmities. He's been here. He will send us help in our hour of temptation,
if we seek to Him with strong crying and tears, or with all our hearts.
1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ has suffered for us in
the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind.
Just as Apostle Paul has said, we need to put on the mind of
Christ, Apostle Peter reinforces that idea. Peter says that putting on the mind
of Christ enables us to withstand suffering. It empowers us to trust God during
it. Jesus learned obedience through the things that He suffered. We can also
learn obedience to God through the things we suffer.
Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges
every son whom He receives.
If we trust God through our suffering and commit what we are
going through into His hands, He will use it for our good. We will come through
our suffering without the smell of smoke.
Hebrews 12:11-12 Now no chastening for the present seems to
be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit
of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the
hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.
God doesn’t want us to get discouraged and faint in our
struggles and sufferings. They are for a good purpose and will yield good in
our lives, as long as we continue to trust and give Him thanks.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good
to them that love God.
1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the
will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well-doing, as unto a
faithful Creator.
1 Peter 4:2 -3 That (we) no longer should live the rest of (our) time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time
past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, (or
unbelievers), when we walked in lasciviousness (sexual pleasure), lusts, excess
of wine, revellings, (from the Greek kosmos,
which is wild, boisterous, and unrestrained partying, often involving excessive drinking, gluttony, and
immoral behaviour, or orgies), banquetings, (sinful indulgence, excess, or
idolatrous drunken revelry), and abominable idolatries.
Apostle Paul, also, warned.
Galatians 5:16-17 Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to another: so that you cannot do the things that you would.
1 Peter 4:7 & 12-13 But the end of all things is at
hand: be you therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. … Beloved. Think it not
strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange
thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ’s
suffering; that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with
exceeding joy.
2 Timothy 2:12 If we suffer (with Him), we shall also reign with Him.
Suffering now, but reigning later; or reigning now, and suffering later. That's the option.
Romans 8:17b-18 If so be that we suffer with Him, that we
may be also glorified together (with Him). For I reckon that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us.
1 Corinthians 2:9 Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.
Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and take our suffering joyfully. A crown of glory is waiting for us, if we faint not. Hold on to your crown. It will be worth it!
