“And your ear shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is
the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the
left,” Isaiah 30:21
Lord, why are the rich so sad and in turmoil?
Jesus speaking from His recorded Word:
What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world
and lose his soul. Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For all
that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world. And the world passes
away and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever.
For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certain
that we can carry nothing out. And having for and raiment let us therefore be
content. But they that are rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many
foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For
the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they
have erred from the faith, and have pierced themselves though with many
sorrows.
But, you, man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight
of faith, wherein you are called to profess a good profession of your faith
before many witnesses, for the time is at hand. Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust do corrupt, and thieves break in and steal. But lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust do corrupt, and
where thieves do not break through and steal. For where your treasure is, there
will your heart be also.
Lay up for yourselves a crown of righteousness that fades
not away, that the Lord, the righteous judge will give unto you in that day and not unto you only, but unto all those who love His appearing. Knowing that He which has raised up the
Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For
all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the
thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
For which cause, we faint not, but though our outward man perishes,
yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is
for a moment, works in us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not
seen. For the tings which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not
seen are eternal. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,
that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that which
he has done, whether it be good or bad. Therefore, fear God and keep His commandments, for
this is the whole duty of man.
