Jesus, fala comigo nesta manhã. Eu apego-me a Ti em oração. Não me abandones. Levanta-me a cabeça. Guia os meus pensamentos e as minhas decisões. Sem Ti, nada posso fazer. Livra-me de mim e das minhas más decisões, ou do meu orgulho. Guarda-me na palma da Tua mão. Em nome de Jesus, rezo.

É bom para o homem aproximar-se de Deus. Vinde a Mim, todos vós que estais cansados ​​e sobrecarregados, e Eu vos descansarei. Descansem nos meus braços, pois é bom que o homem descanse e aguarde em silêncio a vinda do seu Senhor. Não sejais como as virgens insensatas que não tinham azeite nas suas lâmpadas. O azeite é a presença do Espírito Santo que eu dou àqueles que me obedecem. É na obediência que sois cheios do Espírito Santo, não na desobediência. O rei Saul, na sua desobediência e orgulho, recebeu um espírito mau para o atormentar. Todas estas coisas lhes aconteceram para vos advertir a caminhar no temor do Senhor.

Muitos virão ter comigo, nesse dia, dizendo: ‘Senhor, Senhor, em teu nome expulsámos os demónios, em teu nome realizámos muitos sinais e prodígios’. Mas eu dir-vos-ei: ‘Afastai-vos de mim, vós que praticais o mal, pois nunca me conhecestes’. Aquele que faz a vontade de Deus, aquele que ouve as minhas palavras e as segue, esse é que me ama a mim e ao Pai, e eu virei e farei nele morada, e ele será cheio do Espírito Santo. Ele terá azeite na sua lâmpada, que brilhará intensamente. Pois eu dou o Espírito Santo, o óleo da alegria, aos que me obedecem.

Procurai, pois, obedecer à minha voz, não apenas à letra da lei, mas ao coração e à alma da lei. O pecado dos israelitas foi a recusa em ouvir e obedecer à minha voz. Disse-lhes que, se não obedecessem à minha voz, todas as maldições que eu tinha profetizado contra eles se cumpririam e os alcançariam. Você, cristão, enfrenta o mesmo desafio. Pois para aquele que sabe fazer o bem e não o faz, comete pecado. Não pequeis, mas obedecei à Minha voz. Escutai as Minhas palavras escritas no Meu Livro, a Bíblia. Que a Minha palavra toque os vossos corações endurecidos para que o mal não vos vença.

A obediência é melhor do que o sacrifício. Não Me ofereçam o sacrifício dos insensatos, mas ofereçam-Me um coração contrito e humilde que esteja disposto a ouvir a Minha voz suave e delicada e a obedecer a cada um dos Meus chamamentos. Chamo-vos hoje para ouvirem a Minha voz. Deixai de lado tudo o que tão facilmente vos distrai de Mim, da Minha palavra e da oração, e vinde a Mim com um coração desejoso e ouvireis a Minha voz. Invoquem-Me e Eu responder-vos-ei e mostrar-vos-ei coisas grandiosas e poderosas que não conhecem. Procurai-Me com todo o vosso coração, corpo e alma, e encontrar-Me-eis. Como a corça procura a corrente ou o ribeiro de água, assim deveis procurar-Me e ansiar por Mim. Eu amo-vos. Vinde a Mim e encontrareis descanso para as vossas almas, pois o Meu jugo é suave e o Meu fardo é leve.

December 17

Jesus, speak to me this morning. I cleave to You in prayer. Leave me not. Lift up my head. Guide my thoughts and decisions. Without You I can do nothing. Save me from myself and my own bad decisions, or pride. Keep me in the hollow of Your hand. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

It is good for a man to approach unto God. Come to me all you that are weary and I will give you rest. Rest in my arms, for it is good that a man rest and quietly wait on the coming of His Lord. Be not as the unwise maidens who had no oil in their lamps. The oil is the presence of the Holy Spirit which I give unto those that obey Me. It’s in your obedience that you are filled with the Holy Spirit, not in disobedience. King Saul in his disobedience and pride was sent an evil spirit to plague him. All these things happened to them so as to warn you to walk in the fear of the Lord.

Many will come unto Me in that day saying, Lord, Lord, in Your name we have cast out devils, in your name we have done many mighty signs and wonders. But I will say unto them, Depart from Me you workers of iniquity, for you never knew Me. He that does the will of God, he that hears My sayings and follows them, he it is that loves Me. My Father and I will come and make our abode with him and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit. He will have oil in his lamp glowing brightly. For I give the Holy Spirit, the oil of gladness, to those that obey Me.

Seek, therefore, to obey My voice, not just the letter of the law, but the heart and soul of the law. The Israelites’ sin was their refusal to hear and obey My voice. I told them that if they did not obey My voice all the curses that I had prophesised against them would come to pass and overtake them. You, Christian, have the same challenge. For to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. Sin not, but obey My voice. Listen to My words written within My Book, the Bible. Let My word prick your hardened hearts that evil not overcome you.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. Do not offer Me the sacrifice of fools, but offer Me a contrite and humble heart that will to listen to My still small voice and obey My every calling. I am calling you today to hear My voice. Put aside everything that so easily distracts you from Me and My word, and prayer, and come to Me with a desiring heart and you shall hear My voice. Call upon Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not. Search for Me with all your heart, body, and soul, and you shall find me. As the deer searches for the stream or brook of water, so you must search and crave for Me. I love you. Come unto Me and you shall have rest for your soul, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causes shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.

3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord tries the hearts.

4 A wicked doer gives heed to false lips; and a liar gives ear to a naughty tongue.

5 Whoso mocks the poor reproaches his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

6 Children's children (grandchildren) are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

7 Excellent speech becomes not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.

8 A gift (a special talent the Lord has given you) is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that has it: whithersoever it turns, it prospers.

9 He that covers a transgression seeks love; but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.

Beware of gossiping!

10 A reproof enters more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.

11 An evil man seeks only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.

13 Whoso rewards evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

14 The beginning of strife is as when one lets out water (or when one starts to urinate. You cannot stop until your finished): therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

15 He that justifies the wicked, and he that condemns the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.

16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he has no heart to it?

17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

18 A man void of understanding strikes hands, and becomes surety in the presence of his friend.

Be careful about lending money.

19 He loves transgression that loves strife: and he that exalts his gate seeks destruction.

20 He that has a froward heart finds no good: and he that has a perverse tongue falls into mischief.

21 He that begets a fool does it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool has no joy.

22 A merry heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.

The joy of the Lord is our strength, so fight for joy. Flee from discouragement.

23 A wicked man takes a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

Here it's talking about bribing a judge or politician to get a certain corrupt result.

24 Wisdom is before him that has understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

The fool is following the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

26 Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.

27 He that has knowledge spares his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

28 Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

The Daily Voice - December 16, 2025

Lord, I ask you to take control of all our decisions today and tomorrow. We commit our work, the task in front of us today, into Your hands. Guide our thoughts. Without You we are nothing and of our ownselves can accomplish nothing of value and of worth. Bless the work of our hands as we acknowledge You.

Lead and guide us. Empower us for the tasks ahead. You said that as our days, so would our strength be. Even if we feel weak, You will make us strong. Help us to be strong today, strong in You. Make our yoke easy and our burden light as we abide in You.

You, Who are the Author and Finisher of our faith and lives, abide with us today. Be present with us that as we go forth to minister to Your sheep, that they will hear Your voice and not the voice of man. 

Lord, we come unto You today. We abide in You. We wait upon You. Help us to mount up with wings like eagles. Help us to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint. In Your precious name, we pray. Amen.

Proverbs 16 - Adapted

Proverbs 16

Dennis Edwards: I have left the King James as it were only deleting the "ths" and changing them to "s"  or dropping them completely. The Proverbs are self explanatory. Rather than make many comments, I will let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart as you read. However, in some cases I may add something to make the meaning clearer. 

If you haven't made the reading of Proverbs a daily habit in your walk with God, you have really missed something. With thirty-one Proverbs available, one can read one chapter a day and find a rich source of wisdom and knowledge from God at one's disposal. Please incorporate the reading of the Proverbs into your daily devotions or vespers.

16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.

I always analyse the conversations I have with others. It seems the verse is saying that the Sovereign God is over our conversation and we may be able to find God's will in the course of the day from the answers that other give us. Their answers, the verse seems to be indicating, are from the Lord in our search for finding His will for the day or in our lives. 

2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weighs the spirits.

3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

I like to use this verse in prayer. "Lord, we commit our works unto You. Establish our thoughts." A little prayer like that can make a big difference in your decision making as you are acknowledging the Lord in your activity. He will therefore come into the equation and help align your thinking and acting according to His will for you in that situation. Proverbs 3:6 says, "In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."

4 The Lord has made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. His arms are open to all who will come unto Him. The wicked, in his pride and arrogancy, refuse the Lord's mercy and love. As a result, the wicked reap God's judgment upon themselves in their refusal to submit to their Creator.

5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Pride is a great enemy of God for He dwells with the contrite and humble heart. God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

Interesting enough, it was by Jesus Christ that "grace (or mercy) and truth came, John 1:17. Apostle Paul tells us that in Jesus is "hid all the treasure of wisdom and knowledge," Colossians 2:3. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes unto the Father, but by me," John 14:6. Apostle John tells us that God is love, 1 John 4:7. Therefore, the pillars or characteristics most profound in the Christian belief system are love (or mercy, or grace) and truth. Love and truth are the pillars  or building blocks upon which the Christian belief system stand.

7 When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

9 A man's heart devises his way: but the Lord directs his steps.

10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresses not in judgment.

11 A just weight and balance are the Lord's: all the weights of the bag are his work.

12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaks right.

14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.

15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keeps his way preserves his soul.

18 Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

20 He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the Lord, happy is he.

21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increases learning.

22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

23 The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.

24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

25 There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

26 He that labours labours for himself; for his mouth craves it of him.

27 An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

28 A froward man sows strife: and a whisperer (gossiper) separates chief friends.

29 A violent man entices his neighbour, and leads him into the way that is not good.

30 He shuts his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.

31 The hoary (grey) head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city.

The downfall of many of us is our lack of self-control. Self-control is actually a gift of the Holy Spirit. The ideas of Siddhartha, the founder of Buddhism, centre around man's need to control his desires. If we don't get the victory over the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, we are doomed to defeat. Apostle Paul tells us to put those desires to death, Colossians 3:5. Jesus, before starting His own ministry was tempted by the Devil, but resisted him with the word of God. We must do likewise. We can have victory over our besetting sins through Christ. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," Philippians 4:13.

33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.

It seems to be saying that the Sovereign Lord is in fact in control. All things will work together for good to them that love and trust God. He is the One ultimately in control and will bring good even out of genuinely horrible situations, if we trust and love Him through it, and in spite of what it seems like.
