Jesus a falar:
A vida é, por vezes, dois passos em frente e um para trás, ou, por vezes, pode parecer um passo em frente e dois para trás. Mas seja qual for a sua experiência agora, mantenha os olhos fixos em Mim. Todos os outros caminhos conduzem à destruição. Só em Mim há vida.
Eu sou a verdadeira vida e a verdadeira luz que ilumina todos os que vêm ao mundo, pois Eu sou o Autor da vida, da luz e da verdade. Em Mim há plenitude de vida, a vida abundante, não na abundância de bens materiais, mas na abundância que procede do Meu EspÃrito: amor, alegria, paz, longanimidade, benignidade, bondade, paciência, mansidão, fé, perdão; contra tais tesouros não há lei.
Mas para teres estes tesouros, precisas de permanecer em Mim, pois eles encontram-se em Mim. Aqueles que comerem à Minha mesa e beberem do cálice que Eu lhes dou terão vida em abundância: abundância em utilidade para os outros, abundância em serviço, abundância em dar a vida pelos irmãos.
Um novo ano está a amanhecer. Dedica a tua vida a Mim em humilde serviço, e Eu te exaltarei. Lembre-se: Eu resisto aos soberbos, mas dou graça aos humildes. Aos mansos ensinarei o caminho e os conduzirei aos caminhos da justiça. Deitarão-se junto a ribeiros de águas, e Eu os apascentarei em pastos verdejantes.
Vinde, alimentai-vos e bebei das águas da vida que Eu vos dou gratuitamente. Estas são as águas que saciarão as suas almas e satisfarão o desejo dos seus corações. Mas só se encontram em Mim. Procurai-Me e encontrar-Me-eis quando Me procurardes de todo o coração. O que Eu vos digo, digo-o a todos: Procurai!

Jesús habla:
La vida a veces consiste en dos pasos adelante y luego uno atrás, o a veces puede parecer un paso adelante y dos atrás. Pero sea lo que sea que estés experimentando ahora mismo, mantén la mirada fija en MÃ. Todos los demás caminos conducen a la destrucción. Solo en Mà hay vida.
Yo soy la vida verdadera y la luz verdadera que ilumina a todo el que viene al mundo, porque soy el Autor de la vida, la luz y la verdad. En Mà está la plenitud de la vida, la vida abundante, no en la abundancia de las cosas que puedas poseer, sino en la abundancia que procede de Mi EspÃritu: amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, paciencia, mansedumbre, fe, perdón; contra tales tesoros no hay ley.
Pero para tener esos tesoros, debes permanecer en MÃ, porque en Mà se encuentran. Quienes comen a mi mesa y beben de la copa que les doy tendrán vida abundante: abundante en utilidad para los demás, abundante en servicio, abundante en dar la vida por los hermanos.
Un nuevo año está amaneciendo. DedÃquenme su vida en humilde servicio, y yo los levantaré. Recuerden, resisto a los orgullosos, pero doy gracia a los humildes. Porque a los mansos les enseñaré el camino y los guiaré por sendas de justicia. Se acostarán junto a corrientes de agua y los alimentaré con verdes pastos.
Vengan, aliméntense y beban de las aguas de vida que les doy gratuitamente. Estas son las aguas que saciarán sus almas y saciarán el deseo de su corazón. Pero solo se encuentran en mÃ. Búsquenme y me encontrarán cuando me busquen con todo su corazón. Lo que les digo a ustedes, lo digo a todos: ¡Busquen!

Jesus speaking:
Life is sometimes two steps forward and then one step back,
or at times it may seem like one step forward and two steps back. But whatever
you are experiencing right now, keep your eyes fixed on Me. All the other ways
lead to destruction. Only in Me is there life-
I am the true life and the true light that enlightens everyone
that comes into the world, for I am the Author of life and light and truth. In
Me is fulness of life, the abundant life, not in the abundance of the things
that you can possess, but the abundance that proceeds out of My Spirit: love,
joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, patience, meekness, faith,
forgiveness, against such treasures there is no law.
But to have those treasures, you must abide in Me, for they
are found in Me. Those that eat at My table and drink from the cup that I give
unto them shall have the abundant life: abundant in usefulness to others,
abundant in service, abundant in laying down their lives for the brethren.
A new year is dawning. Dedicate your life to Me in humble
service, and I will raise you up. Remember, I resist the proud, but give grace
unto the humble. For the meek will I teach in the way and lead them to paths of
righteousness. They shall lie down besides the rivers of waters and I shall
feed them from green pastures.
Come you and feed and drink from the waters of life that I
give freely. These are the waters that shall quench your souls and satisfy your
heart’s desire. But they are only found in Me. Seek for Me and you shall find
Me when you shall search for Me with all your heart. What I say unto you, I say
unto all: Seek!

O tema do
primeiro salmo do livro dos Salmos é a importância da Palavra de Deus
nas nossas vidas. A BÃblia é uma coleção de 66 livros. O livro com mais
capÃtulos é o Salmos, com 150 salmos. No entanto, os Salmos não são o
livro mais longo da BÃblia em termos de contagem de palavras; tanto Jeremias
como Génesis são mais longos. Dos três livros mais longos: Jeremias é um
livro de advertência, onde Deus nos advertiu sobre os Seus julgamentos se não O
amarmos e obedecermos. O Génesis é um livro dos primórdios da
humanidade, onde Deus nos disse para não esquecermos os nossos primórdios, de
onde viemos e quem nos criou. Salmos é um livro de louvor, onde Deus nos ensina
como viver a nossa vida com ações de graças e louvor.
Hoje estudaremos
o Salmo 1.
Salmo 1:1 “Bem-aventurado o homem que não anda
segundo o conselho dos Ãmpios, nem se detém no caminho dos pecadores, nem se
assenta na roda dos escarnecedores.”
Desde o inÃcio,
Deus alerta-nos para evitarmos ter comunhão com pecadores Ãmpios que
desrespeitam Deus. Em Provérbios, Salomão aborda o mesmo assunto.
Provérbios
1:10-11a,14-16a “Meu
filho, se os pecadores te seduzirem, não consintas. Se disserem: Vem connosco,…
Lança a tua sorte entre nós; vamos todos ter uma bolsa. Meu filho, não ande com
eles; afasta o teu pé do caminho deles. Pois os seus pés correm para o mal.”
Provérbios
4:14-15 “Não entres no
caminho dos Ãmpios, e não sigas o caminho dos maus. Evite-o, não passe por ele,
afaste-se dele e morra.”
Em contraste com
o caminho dos Ãmpios, Deus instrui como os piedosos devem andar.
Salmo 1:2 “Mas o seu prazer está na lei do Senhor;
e na Sua lei medita de dia e de noite.”
Como nos
protegemos do mal, das más influências da cultura que nos rodeia, das más
influências do nosso próprio coração e mente? A palavra de Deus ensina-nos a
meditar e a ter alegria na Sua Palavra.
Moisés ensinou os
filhos de Israel antes de entrarem na Terra Prometida.
Deuteronómio
6:5-9 “E amarás o Senhor
teu Deus de todo o teu coração, e de toda a tua alma, e de todas as tuas
forças. E estas palavras que hoje te ordeno estarão no teu coração; e tu as
ensinarás diligentemente aos teus filhos, e delas falarás quando estiveres
sentado em tua casa, e quando andares pelo caminho, e quando te deitares e
quando te levantares. E amarrá-los-ás por sinal na tua mão, e eles serão como
frontais entre os teus olhos. E as escreverás nos umbrais da tua casa e nas
tuas portas.
Por outras
palavras, devemos memorizar a palavra de Deus. Devemos colocá-lo profundamente
nos nossos corações.
Salmo 119: 9 e
11 "Com que
purificará o jovem o seu caminho? Observando-o segundo a tua palavra... Escondi
a tua palavra no meu coração, para não pecar contra ti."
Em Provérbios,
Salomão dá a mesma mensagem:
Provérbios
6:20-24 “Filho meu,
guarda o mandamento de teu pai e não abandones a lei de tua mãe; Quando for,
isso irá guiá-lo; quando dormir, ele o guardará; quando acordar, ele falará
consigo. Pois o mandamento é uma lâmpada; e a lei é leve; e as repreensões da
instrução são o caminho da vida: para te guardar da mulher má, da lisonja da
lÃngua da mulher estranha.”
“A mulher má ou
estranha” refere-se fisicamente a uma prostituta, mas espiritualmente ao que
Jesus e os Apóstolos chamaram “o mundo”, ou também referida como “Babilónia, a
Prostituta”. O apóstolo João escreveu:
1 João 2:15-17 “Não ameis o mundo, nem as coisas que há
no mundo. Se alguém ama o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele. Porque tudo o que
há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, e a concupiscência dos olhos, e a
soberba da vida, não são do Pai, mas são do mundo. E o mundo e a sua
concupiscência passam;
O próprio Jesus
advertiu,
João 15:19 “Se fosses do mundo, (ou a mulher má de
Provérbios e o sistema de cidades comerciais mundiais de prostitutas chamado
Babilónia de Apocalipse 17-18), o mundo amaria os teus: mas porque não és do
mundo, mas Eu escolhi-te do mundo, por isso o mundo te odeia”.
Provérbios 7:
1-3 e 5 “Meu filho,
guarda as minhas palavras e guarda contigo os meus mandamentos. Guarda os meus
mandamentos e vive; e a minha lei como a menina dos seus olhos. Amarre-os nos
seus dedos, escreva-os nas tábuas do seu coração. Para que o possam afastar da
mulher estranha (ou daquilo a que Jesus e os Apóstolos chamam ‘o mundo’ ou
Babilónia), da estranha que lisonjeia com as suas palavras”.
Quando Moisés
morreu, o Senhor dirigiu a Josué palavras semelhantes às que dirigiu a Moisés.
Josué 1:8 “Este livro da lei não se apartará da
vossa boca; mas meditarás nele dia e noite, para que tenhas o cuidado de fazer
segundo tudo o que nele está escrito; pois então farás próspero o teu caminho,
e então terás bom êxito.”
David pode ter
meditado nos escritos de Moisés ou de Josué quando escreveu o Salmo 1.
Salmos 1:3 “E ele (o Piedoso) será como a árvore
plantada junto a ribeiros de águas, que dá o seu fruto no seu tempo; também a
sua folha não murchará; e tudo o que ele fizer prosperará.”
Moisés escreveu
de forma semelhante:
Deuteronómio
30: 9-10 e 20a “E o
Senhor teu Deus te fará abundante em toda a obra das tuas mãos, no fruto do teu
corpo, e no fruto do teu gado, e no fruto da terra, para o bem: para o Senhor
de novo se alegrará convosco para o bem, como se alegrou com os vossos pais;
-se ao Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração e de toda a tua alma… Para que
ames o Senhor teu Deus, e para que ouças a sua voz, e para que te apegueis a
ele; .
Em contraste, o
salmista continua,
Salmo 1:4 “Os Ãmpios não são assim, mas são como a
palha que o vento espalha.”
João Batista usou
uma expressão semelhante sobre “joio” ao descrever o Messias que estava para
vir.
Mateus 3:11-12 “Eu, na verdade, vos batizo com água,
para o arrependimento; mas aquele que vem depois de mim é mais poderoso do que
eu, cujas sandálias não sou digno de levar; e com fogo; a ventoinha está na Sua
mão, e Ele limpará completamente a Sua eira e recolherá o Seu trigo no celeiro;
mas Ele queimará a palha com fogo inextinguÃvel.”
Salmo 1:5 “Portanto, os Ãmpios não subsistirão no
julgamento, nem os pecadores na congregação dos justos.”
Jesus contou
também uma parábola semelhante sobre o trigo e o joio.
Mateus
13:24-30 “O reino dos
céus é semelhante ao homem que semeou boa semente no seu campo; Mas quando a
lâmina cresceu e deu fruto, então apareceu também o joio. Chegaram, pois, os
servos da casa e disseram-lhe: Senhor, não semeaste boa semente no teu campo;
Ele disse-lhes: Um inimigo fez isto. Disseram-lhe os servos: Queres então ir
reuni-los? Mas ele disse: Não; para que, ao colheres o joio, não arranques com
ele também o trigo. Deixem ambos crescer juntos até à colheita: e no tempo da
colheita direi aos ceifeiros: Juntai primeiro o joio e amarrai-o em feixes para
o queimar.
Noutras partes
dos Salmos e em Jeremias, lemos.
Salmo 9:17 “Os Ãmpios serão lançados no inferno, e
todas as nações que se esquecem de Deus.” Jeremias 12:17 “Mas se não
obedecerem, arrancarei e destruirei totalmente aquela nação, diz o Senhor.”
O salmo termina
com,
Salmo 1:6 “Porque o Senhor conhece o caminho dos
justos, mas o caminho dos Ãmpios perecerá.”
Fomos
completamente avisados. Os Ãmpios perecerão, mas o Senhor conhece aqueles que
são Seus.
Jeremias
9:23-24 “Não se glorie o
sábio na sua sabedoria, nem o poderoso se glorie no seu poder, nem o rico se
glorie nas suas riquezas; , que Eu sou o Senhor, que faço benevolência, juÃzo e
justiça na terra;
Deuteronómio
30:11-14 “Porque este
mandamento que hoje te ordeno não te está escondido, nem está longe. Não está
no céu para que digais: Quem subirá por nós ao céu e no-lo trará, para que o
ouçamos e o pratiquemos? Nem está além do mar, para que digais: Quem
atravessará o mar por nós e no-lo trará, para que o ouçamos e o cumpramos? Mas
a palavra está demasiado perto de si, na sua boca e no seu coração, para que a
possa cumprir.
O Deus dos Salmos
não está longe. O apóstolo Paulo afirma o mesmo ponto,
Atos 17:24-28a “Deus que fez o mundo e todas as coisas
nele, sendo Senhor do céu e da terra, não habita em templos feitos por mãos de
mãos; nem é adorado por mãos de homens, como se precisasse de alguma coisa,
visto que Ele dá a todos a vida, e o fôlego, e todas as coisas; e de um só
sangue fez todas as nações dos homens para habitarem sobre toda a face da
terra, (…) para que buscassem o Senhor, se por acaso O buscassem e O
encontrassem, embora Ele não esteja longe de cada um dos nós: porque nele
vivemos, e nos movemos, e existimos.”
Deus não está
longe. A sua palavra não está longe. A Sua lei está escrita nos nossos
corações, e a nossa consciência dá testemunho disso. [Romanos 2:15]
Busquemos, pois, a Deus diariamente. Deleitemo-nos em meditar na Sua Palavra.
Não andemos no caminho dos Ãmpios, mas andemos com Deus.
Provérbios
4:18 “O caminho dos
justos é como a luz da aurora, que vai brilhando cada vez mais até ser dia
perfeito.” Salmo 119:105 “Lâmpada para os meus pés é a tua palavra e luz
para o meu caminho.”
Ajuda-nos, Senhor, a deixar que a tua palavra ilumine os nossos caminhos e mentes, e a manter-nos perto de Ti, hoje e todos os dias do ano. Em nome de Jesus, oramos.

His Delight is in the Law of the Lord - Psalm 1

The theme of the very first psalm in the book of Psalms is
the importance of God’s Word in our lives. The Bible is a collection of 66 books.
The book with the most chapters is Psalms, with 150 psalms. However, Psalms is not
the longest book by word count in the Bible; both Jeremiah and Genesis are
longer. Of the three longest books: Jeremiah is a book of warning, where God
has warned us to love and obey Him. Genesis is a book of mankind’s beginnings,
where God has told us not to forget our beginnings, where we come from, and who made us. Psalms
is a book of praise, where God teaches us how to live our lives with thanksgiving
and praise.
Today we will study Psalm 1.
Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel
of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the
scornful.”
Right from the start, God warns us to avoid having
fellowship with ungodly sinners who disrespect God. In Proverbs, Solomon covers
the same subject.
Proverbs 1:10,11a,14,15 “My son, if sinners entice you,
consent not. If they say, Come with us,…Cast your lot among us; let us all have
one purse. My son, walk not in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their
path.”
Proverbs 4:14-15 “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and
go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass
away.”
In contrast to the way of the wicked, God instructs how the
Godly should walk.
Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in
His law does he meditate day and night.”
How do we keep ourselves from evil, from the evil influences
of the culture all around us, from the evil influences of our own heart and
mind? God’s word teaches us to meditate and take joy in His Word.
Moses taught the children of Israel before they entered into
the Promised Land.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 “And you shall love the LORD your God with
all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these
words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: and you shall
teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit
in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when
you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall
be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of
your house, and on your gates.”
In other words, we should memorize God’s word. We should get
it deep into our hearts.
Psalm 119:9&11 "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Your word...Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
In Proverbs, Solomon gives the same message:
Proverbs 6:20-24a “My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of your mother: bind them continually upon your heart, and tie them about your neck. When you go, it shall lead you; when you sleep, it shall keep you; when you awake, it shall talk with you. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and the reproofs of instruction are the way of life: to keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.”
The ”evil woman” refers to spiritually to what Jesus and the Apostle’s called “the world.” The Apostle John wrote,1 John 2:15-17 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of the Father abides forever.”
Jesus Himself warned,
John 15:19 “If you were of the world, (or the evil woman of Proverbs and the Great Whore of Revelation 17-18), the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
Proverbs 7:1-3 “My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the tables of your heart That they may keep you from the strange woman (or what Jesus and the Apostles call ‘the world’), from the stranger which flatters with her words.”
When Moses died, the Lord spoke similar words to Joshua:
Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of
your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe
to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your
way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.”
David may have been meditating on the writings of Moses or
Joshua when he wrote Psalm 1.
Psalm 1:3 “And he (the Godly) shall be like a tree planted
by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf
also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”
Moses wrote similarly:
Deuteronomy 30: 9-10&20a “And the Lord your God will
make you plenteous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and
in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of the land, for good: for the
Lord will again rejoice over you for good, as He rejoiced over your fathers: if
you shall hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments
and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn
unto the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul…That you may
love the LORD thy God, and that you may obey His voice, and that you may cleave
unto Him: for He is life, and length of your days.”
In contrast, the Psalmist continues,
Psalm 1:4 “The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff
which the wind drives away.”
John the Baptist used a similar expression when describing
the Messiah who was to come.
Matthew 3:11-12 “I indeed baptize you with water unto
repentance: but He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not
worthy to bear: He shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: whose
fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His
wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Psalm 1:5 “Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the
judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”
Jesus also spoke a similar parable of the wheat and the
tares.
Matthew 13:24-30 “The kingdom of heaven is like unto a man
which sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and
sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung
up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of
the household came and said unto him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your
field, from where then has it tares? He said unto them, An enemy has done this.
The servants said unto him, Will you then that we go and gather them up? But he
said, No; lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with
them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest
I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares, and bind them in
bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Elsewhere in the Psalms and in Jeremiah, we find the same concept:
Psalm 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all
the nations that forget God.”
Jeremiah 12:17 “But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, says the Lord.”
The psalm ends with,
Psalm 1:6 “For the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but
the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
We have been thoroughly warned. The ungodly shall perish,
but the Lord knows those who are His.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in
his riches: but let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and
knows Me, that I am the LORD which exercises loving-kindness, judgment, and
righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.”
Deuteronomy 30:11-14 “For this commandment which I command
you this day, it is not hidden from you, neither is it far off. It is not in
heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto
us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that you
should say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may
hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto you, in your mouth, and in
your heart, that you may do it.
The God of the Psalms is not far off. Apostle Paul makes the
same point,
Acts 17:24-28a “God that made the world and all things
therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made
with hands; neither is he worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything,
seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things; and has made of one
blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has
determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; that
they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him,
though He be not far from every one of us: for in Him we live, and move, and
have our being.”
God is not far off. His word is not far off. His law is written in our hearts, our conscience bearing witness of it. [Romans 2:15] Let us seek God daily. Let us delight in meditating on His Word. Let us walk not in the path of the wicked, but let us walk with God.
Proverbs 4:18 “The path of the just is as a shining light,
that shines more and more unto the perfect day.”
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light
unto my path.”
Help us, Lord, to let your word enlighten our paths, and minds,
and keep us close to You, today, and every day of the year. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
